Short answer: Senville is a mini split brand that says it has designed and sold mini split air conditioners and heat pumps since 2005. Senville's own About page says its production partners build the products, but it does not name the factory. One independent reviewer says Senville mini splits are made by Gree. Senville does not say that on its site, so treat it as a claim, not a confirmed fact.
What Senville says about itself
Straight from Senville's About page:
- It has designed and sold high-efficiency mini split air conditioners and heat pumps in the United States, Canada and Europe since 2005.
- It says it has sold over 1,000,000 units, and that its products are carried at Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon and Menards.
- It says its production partners are held to manufacturing standards, without naming them.
- It says qualifying products carry the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient Cold Climate certification, and that the lineup is listed by NEEP, UL listed and ISO 9001:2015 certified.
- It says its products use R-454B refrigerant.
Those are Senville's own statements. This guide does not include hands-on product testing or independent certification checks. Look them up in the ENERGY STAR and NEEP listings if they matter to you.
Who builds them?
This is the question people search, so here is the honest answer.
- Senville's website: says it designs and sells the units and names no factory.
- One independent reviewer (Air Conditioner Lab): says Senville mini splits are made by Gree, which the reviewer says makes most of the cheaper mini split brands. This is the reviewer's claim. Senville does not confirm it on the pages linked below.
- What the linked Senville pages establish: Senville is the brand you buy from and the one that stands behind the warranty.
If knowing the factory matters to you, ask Senville customer care directly.
What this means for you
For an owner, the factory name matters less than three practical things.
- Parts and support. Ask who ships parts and how long it takes. The reviewer above warns to avoid discontinued models because parts are harder to find.
- The warranty terms. The same reviewer says Senville mini splits come with a five-year parts warranty that does not cover labor, and that select models, including the Aura, carry a ten-year compressor warranty. That is the reviewer's summary, so read the warranty in your box for the exact terms.
- The installer. A proper installation protects the warranty. Ask your installer if they offer a labor warranty.
If you own a Senville already
The same care applies to any brand:
- Clean the filters on a schedule. See how to clean a mini split.
- If it leaks, see mini split leaking water.
- If it shows a code, use your Senville manual. Not every brand uses the same codes. Senville's manuals are on its website.
- Keep your receipt and the model and serial number from the label on the unit.
When to call a technician
Call a licensed HVAC technician for anything beyond the filter and the outdoor clearance: ice that keeps coming back, error codes that return after a restart, a hissing sound, or a breaker that trips. Do not open the electrical panel or touch the refrigerant lines.
